Job: 2nd Shift Supervisor

Jobing Description

Follows progress of the work in the various plant departments to assure compliance with required production quotas and established schedule and quality requirements.

Investigates problems or delays that may be causing inadequate performance and initiates action to correct the problems or refers them to regular department supervision, when necessary, for final resolution.

Maintains discipline and adherence to plant rules, and regulations, and assures compliance with all required safety regulations. Has complete authority and responsibility to discipline personnel, as required, to enforce theses requirements.

Assures that safety and security of the plant is properly maintained at all times.

Reports directly to the Operations Manager, but takes direction from the individual departmental supervisors as to the work they want processed and the methods and procedures they want followed.

Reports to them verbally or in writing, as required, to keep them advised at all times of the progress, performance, and problems in their areas.

Reviews employee time for correctness and reports any absences to the department supervisor and / or HR

Perform other duties and projects as assigned or directed by management to improve safety, productivity, quality and OTD.

Must know and follow all company and departmental safety rules.

Required Skills

Thorough knowledge of the operations and processes required throughout the plant, plus additional general knowledge about the physical plant and its facilities.

This would be equivalent to complete apprenticeship training in a recognized trade or craft.

Required Experience

At least 3 years at PCC or other casting business; or the equivalent in education and / or training in similar field.
