Under direct supervision the Acturial Assistant will assist in providing actuarial services, including product development and pricing, dividend and rate setting, illustration testing, reserving, cash flow testing, experience studies, and financial reporting. May work in the Product Management or Actuarial teams.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain status in Actuarial Student Development Program
* Performs routine pricing, dividend, cash value, or reserve calculations
* Assists in the preparation of reports or studies
* Acquires a working knowledge of individual products and systems; develops proficiency in current spreadsheets, computer languages, and actuarial modeling software
* Answers routine queries from other departments in support of managing products and solvency
* Assists in development and completion of special projects
Job Results
Effectively communicate results of projects, studies and analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
Answers questions and provides guidance related to assigned projects for peers, manager, senior management, and others within and outside the organization
Produces work product that has meaningful impact on business results
Maintains a high level of customer support with high level work
Generates new ideas to improve current processes
Ensures work produced with high level of accuracy
Communication and Contacts
Position may deal directly with Policyholder Services, Marketing and Distribution, Claims, IT, Compliance, New Business, Underwriting, and Financial areas.

Proven math and analytical skills, as normally acquired through the pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
*
Commitment to achieving Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries.
*
Passing grades on a minimum of 1-2 Society of Actuaries exams is required.
*
Solid oral and written communication skills as well as ability to interact effectively within and outside the organization.
*
Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
* Strong computing skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and actuarial software preferred
