Admissions Coordinator

Riverbend Counseling Associates is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to work as part of a three-person Admissions team. This position is responsible for answering the admissions intake line and screening calls to determine appropriate services for the potential client. The Admissions Coordinator will either refer the caller to outside area resources or providers, refer the caller to another Riverbend program, or complete an intake for the new patient. A complete intake involves verifying health insurance, obtaining necessary authorizations, researching past balances on account, booking appointments, entering data in the system, compiling a fee agreement, sending out a welcome packet and following up with any patient concerns regarding the intake. This is a high volume, fast-paced environment. The ability to multi-task and prioritize are a must. Excellent customer service and phone skills are required. 80% of this position involves use of the phone, and 20% involves compilation of detailed paperwork. Candidates must be a team players and willing to cross train for other positions to provide coverage if/when necessary. Candidates must be willing to learn accounts receivable procedures and implement collection processes as well. Other duties may involve filing, data entry, and compilation of statistical data. This is a full-time position with hours Monday through Friday. Some evening or Saturday hours may be necessary on a rotating schedule. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work in a hectic environment. A sense of humor is a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment is necessary as well. Medical office experience preferred.
