Jobing Description
The Assistant Buyer s primary responsibility is to drive profitable sales through an expanded online assortment, pricing strategy, experience and promotional tactics leading to a leadership position online within a given category of opportunity. The AB will do this by working collaboratively internally with stakeholders and externally with the market.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Category sku expansion and new category development. Management of all products through the entire lifecycle, for optimized profitability.
* Conceptualizing and creating a best-in-class, online buying experience
* Negotiating and executing creative promotions to drive increases in GM$
* Maintaining a competitive pricing position online through constant monitoring and negotiation with the vendors.
* Setting expectations and following through with vendors on excellent service levels to Brookstone customers. Working with the customer support center and Drop Ship Department to ensure a positive customer experience and efficiently manage issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* College degree or equivalent experience
* Web acumen
Desired:
* Previous merchandising experience, online preferred.
* Exposure to product development processes.
**Regular and reliable attendance is a basic requirement of this position.
