Position Summary:

ANSYS is seeking an experienced CFD Application or Testing Engineer to help with the development of CFD validations for the ANSYS CFD software, i.e. the detailed comparison of ANSYS CFD solver results with experimental data following established best practice guidelines. The position involves direct collaboration with our fluids modeling development teams to investigate detailed validation examples in a wide range of modeling areas including the CFD core solver numerics. The position will involve working with the different modeling teams to help set-up, run and evaluate detailed validation and verification examples, to identify, document and report possible shortcomings in CFD solver physical models and to contribute in collaboration with the responsible physical modeling development team to the improvement of implemented physical models, solver accuracy and robustness in a wide variety of technical applications. Furthermore the position involves documentation and archiving of investigated validation examples, assistance in management of the validation testcase database on ANSYS EKM and assistance of technical services and development staff in the usage of the validation examples database for ANSYS business processes.

The incumbent should have a strong understanding of fluid mechanics, CFD modeling and experience in applying CFD to a wide range of application areas. Experience with ANSYS meshing and CFD products is highly desirable. This position requires the ability to work in a geographically distributed development environment and requires strong oral and written communication skills in English language.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities:

Validation of the ANSYS CFD software products by detailed comparison of CFD simulation results to experimental data for a wide variety of physics and testcases

Quality assurance in the ANSYS software development process in strong interaction with ANSYS fluids software development teams

Development, organization and management of a validation testcase database based on ANSYS EKM

Support of ANSYS fluids software development teams in validation of ANSYS CFD software products and their access of the validation testcase database

ANSYS internal support of customer support and sales processes

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

PhD or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics.

2-3 years of experience in CFD applications.

Familiarity with geometry modeling (CAD) and a variety of meshing applications

In-depth familiarity with at least one commercial CFD software package

Strong capacity for teamwork in an international and geographically distributed software development team

Other Job Requirements:

Experience in conducting detailed validations of CFD codes

Experience with ANSYS meshing and CFD codes

Experience with CFD applications in the fields of turbomachinery and/or chemical engineering, combustion, FSI, multi-physics simulations

Willingness to learn and adopt new methodologies and skills

Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
