Jobing Description
Reports directly to the plant accounting manager. Enforces established cost accounting procedures and methods. Assists in the preparation and analysis of cost reports. Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly. Provides cost analysis results to assist senior management in decision making or other financial initiatives. Performs variance analysis between actual and standard costs. Monitors, analyzes and reports on inventory valuation, production and various other costs. Provides productivity analysis. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in manufacturing. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Responsibilities:
This position assists the Cost Department in improving control over manufacturing efficiency/productivity and helps generate better information for use by management in making operational decisions. This value-added accounting position entails varying degrees of responsibilities in the following areas:
* Manufacturing cost analysis
* Income statement analysis
* Inventory analysis
* Standard cost system maintenance
* Overhead application
* Quoting
* Capital spending justification
* Budgeting, forecasting & audit support
* Ad hoc support of operations
* Other related areas as needed
Education / Experience:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics required. Minimum of 2-4years of applicable work exp including a Fundamental understanding of cost accounting principles, application of same and strong excel skills.
