Job Description:

The Director, Grocery Procurement will provide leadership and administer day-to-day activities of the Procurement, Inventory Quality, and Logistics departments to ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to while ensuring individual and company goals are attained. .

Responsibilities:

* Direct, motivate, and counsel managers and other associates on performance and personal development.
* Analyze, strategize, and communicate financial operating numbers to senior management; including actions plans for areas that are not meeting targets.
* Administer day-to-day activities of procurement, inventory quality, and logistics departments to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and targeted levels are met for key measurements such as service levels and inventory.
* Evaluation of daily performance with managers of functional operating areas of accountability and follow up on short falls to targets along with the development and assistance with implementing actions plans for recovery.
* Analyze, Develop, Plan, and Implement strategic initiatives, including cross functional changes to policies and procedures for all functional operating areas.
* Manage collaborative efforts of cross functional teams through analyzing, planning, implementing and reporting of progress on special projects to senior management which includes new business acquisitions.
* Establish quarterly and yearly budgets for areas of accountability and as assigned.
* Working with vendors directly on expediting PO s, supply chain issues, and problematic inventory.
* Filling in for team managers as necessary.
* Coordination of efforts across departments, teams and customers on vendor recalls, weather related issues and operational efficiencies.
* Hiring and separation processes for functional operating areas.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience.
* Ten years of relevant experience in the grocery or retail business.
* Extensive knowledge of procurement and customer activities.
* Ability to negotiate and create successful relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
* Ability to build teams across departmental accountabilities and create a collaborative work enviroment.
* Sound statistical, financial, and functional acumen.
* Strong management and leadership skills.
* Professional verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong ability to be decisive in judgments and decisions and balance ever changing demands.
