Jobing Description

To support the High Value Health Collaborative at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice in the development of national, state and regional best practices for eight common conditions and treatments, with a particular focus on the dissemination of actionable recommendations to providers and health systems across the United States.
Skills & Knowledge: Public health or health policy background and commitment to advancing health care reform in the United States.
Knowledge of key components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and familiarity with health care issues.
Project management experience and proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), web-based applications, and electronic mail.
Ability to work directly with high-level national stakeholders to advance health reform initiatives.
Familiarity with basic statistical methods and data analysis.
Proven ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgment to address open-ended problems.
Excellent communication with strong editorial, proofreading, spelling and grammar skills.
Strong planning, administrative and organizational skills, ability to manage time efficiently, meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and take initiative.
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends when necessary.
Commitment to diversity and serving the needs of a diverse population.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of relevant professional work experience preferred.
Internship experience in health policy, public health or related field in a professional setting.
Experience working with data in Excel, including preparation of presentation-quality graphs and tables.
Experience preparing professional quality PowerPoint presentations.
Experience writing policy briefs, technical reports or grant reports/applications.
Experience conducting literature searches.
Familiarity with statistical programs such as SAS or STATA desirable.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree required.
1-2 years of relevant professional work experience preferred.
