Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Marketing Analytics will work within the marketing management team to oversee research, analytics and campaigns, including but not limited to:
* Direct and conduct primary and secondary market research.
* Supervise and quality check the successful refresh and insert jobs in support of the Customer Database (CDB).
* Use business analysis to help shape strategic direction and formulate short term tactical solutions.
* Synthesize information from a variety of sources into a coherent analysis targeted to the relevant internal audience.
* Develop standardized reporting formats and information content. Identify, evaluate and negotiate external data sources for competitive study and analysis.
* Perform ad hoc strategic analysis of potential marketing opportunities.
* Manage projects for marketing programs from inception to execution. Negotiate with various department heads to meet business objectives.
* Manage a staff of internal analysts - motivate, coach, develop and evaluate team.
* Identify opportunities and support initiatives for the marketing managers.
* Develop an understanding of what competitive and publicly available information can be gathered, summarized and reported to support the needs of the business.
* Identify opportunities and provide information to help Sales better service the customer. Streamline and optimize lead selection and tracking.
* Monitor and evaluate direct competitors and retail sites.
* Manage day-to-day activity. Provide guidance on analytic approach and reporting styles. Cross-train to build depth and stability.
* Develop successful internal negotiating tactics that move the project forward and garner support from other areas of the organization in a rapidly changing environment.
* Transform data into information, clearly communicate, and provide a recommendation directed at a clearly presented business issue.

* Proven experience in a marketing, financial or strategic analysis position
* 4 Year College Degree or equivalent work experience
Ideal
* 3+ years experience in a direct marketing environment
* Prior supervisor experience
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access
* Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), B2B technologies, and Data Warehouse Systems
* 3+ years proficiency with SAS
* MBA
