Position Description: Position Overview:
This individual is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for all science and math curriculum brands. The primary focus will be on marketing initiatives that lead to greater brand awareness and increased demand for products. Areas of responsibility include marketing support for the sales force, direct marketing, developing integrated marketing activities across multiple venues, participating in product development, analysis and reporting, and budget management. This individual will work as a team player with others in the marketing department by sharing information, direction, and assistance, and will work closely with the sales team, important vendors, and others both inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities:
Formulate brand strategy, ensure clear and consistent brand identity, determine positioning, and create marketing messages
Develop marketing objectives and annual plans, and define promotion strategies
Implement marketing initiatives, including but not limited to catalogs and other direct mail, web, advertising, trade shows, workshops, and publicity
Develop initiatives and materials to support sales reps at all stages of the selling process
Work with important vendors on marketing initiatives and sales pieces
Determine messaging and write copy for marketing materials and selling tools
Research, write, and create additional resources as needed, including adoption materials, white papers, research reviews, success stories, and other materials
Provide recommendations regarding pricing and promotional offers
Provide marketing input throughout product development phases
Build a solid understanding of customer needs and expectations, market trends, and competition, and communicate those to others within the organization
Regularly analyze initiatives, prepare reports, and adapt plans as needed
Develop and monitor budgets
Communicate to marketing, sales, and others throughout the company to ensure an understanding of the brands, strategies, objectives, and marketing initiatives
Other responsibilities, as needed
Requirements: Qualifications:
Leadership skills, collaborative style, team player with the ability to work effectively with others at all levels inside and outside the organization
Creative problem-solver, hands-on approach, attention to detail
Ability to write, speak, and communicate effectively
5+ years in marketing
Experience with or in-depth knowledge of the PreK-12 market, particularly in science education, including curriculum, supplementary products, and classroom resources, with a special emphasis on the middle and high school segments
Experience with or an understanding of the selling process, adoptions, bids and contracts
B.A. or B.S., M.B.A. preferred
Travel: less than 10%

Position does not require relocation. Candidates qualifications will be considered regardless of location.
