Keene State College seeks two tenure-track Assistant Professors/faculty for a new bachelor of science in nursing program. The curriculum is based on the Nurse of the Future concepts and competencies. The nursing course sequence which makes up the last 4 semesters of the degree program begin in January, 2012. Rank will be at the assistant professor level. Faculty positions are full-time, one 9 month, beginning August 15, 2012 and one 12 month position, beginning July 1, 2012.

Keene State College (KSC) has a unique mission within the University System of New Hampshire. As the state's public liberal arts college, KSC's focus is on undergraduate education and providing students with a rich residential campus experience. The college also continues to meet the needs of the state and region programmatically, serving professional educators through its master's in education programs and adult learners through the Continuing Education Division. Consistent with its mission and focus, KSC is a founding member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC), established in 1987. By adding a professional nursing degree program, KSC would enhance its ability to meet the needs of the region.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate nursing courses that incorporate current theory and research. Areas of responsibility will vary according to the faculty member's areas of expertise and content of curriculum delivered for the semester. Additional responsibilities will include providing clinical instruction and/or oversight for student's clinical experiences including evaluation of student achievement and competence; student advisement/advising and mentoring students; curriculum development and assessment/collaborate with other nursing faculty to ensure the nursing curriculum is current and well developed, i.e., learning outcomes, instructional components, and criteria for evaluation are clearly articulated; committee service and scholarly activity/provide service to the college, community and/or professional organizations; engage in research and related scholarly activities. Minimum qualifications and qualities include:

* A Master's degree in Nursing is required; an earned Doctorate in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
* Minimum three years practice as a registered nurse.
* Three to five years of relevant teaching experience.
* A New Hampshire registered nurse license or eligibility to obtain an RN license in New Hampshire.
* Desire to work as part of a team in the department and within the College.
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* A record of collaborative commitment to scholarship, service, and academic excellence.
* Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation a plus.
Ability to teach maternal-child health and upper-division nursing theory courses.

Salary at the rank of Assistant Professor will be based on Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement and is $59,910 for the 9 month position subject to ratification by members and trustees. The twelve month position minimum salary is anticipated at $77,890. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon a satisfactory background check, licensure verification and approval from the state board.
