Job Details: JOB SUMMARY: Collects specimens for laboratory testing by request from licensed physician. Specimens obtained by direct manipulation of a patient include collection of blood by venipuncture's or capillary puncture. Instructs or assists patients in the proper collection of other body fluids such as urine, stool, etc. Ensures proper collection, labeling, accessions and handling of specimens for all areas of laboratory testing. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent, plus training in phlebotomy techniques. Training may be in a formal training program or consist of a minimum of one year on-the-job-training.
