Position: Principal Thermal Design & Electro-Optical Mechanical Engineer
Location: Nashua, NH
Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 + Excellent Benefits + Paid Relocation ++++

Responsibilities:

. Conceptual thermal design and analysis for electro-optical systems:
. Design and analysis of active thermal controls for precision optical components and assemblies, using thermoelectric modules and resistance heaters with temperature feedback
. Design of heat sinks, thermal links and other passive and active thermal management devices
. Thermal management of motors
. Thermal design and analysis of circuit card assemblies and electronics chasses
. Analysis and design of forced convection chasses, plenums and ducted systems
. Implementation of advanced glass, ceramic, metal and composite materials, insulation materials, emissive and reflective finishes
. Planning and execution of thermal testing, in vacuum and at atmosphere
. Material trades, which address CTE, k/ ? ? and temperature uniformity
. Generation and maintenance of opto-mechanical system error budgets
. Generation and review of 3-D CAD models using ProEngineer
. Proposal writing, concept preparation and trade studies

Direction of project design/drafting and documentation effort Computer simulation using finite difference and/or CFD analysis tools:
. Familiarity with CFD analysis codes such as Flotherm or Flow EFD
. Steady state and transient thermal analysis of optical components and systems, to predict thermal gradients and heat transfer
. Analysis to predict the effect of thermal loading on optical system temporal stability
. Evaluation of thermal test data for validation of analytical models
. Thermal analysis of circuit card assemblies Limited Relocation assistance available

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific field or equivalent experience, Employees in California must have a
Bachelor ??s degree in the applicable field, or an applicable certification, equivalent certificate or any required license. 12+ years of related experience in Thermal Design & Electro-Optical Mechanical Engineering.
The appropriate candidate should at a minimum have a BSME degree and at least 8 years of thermal design experience.
