Position Summary
The Psychometrician II is responsible for developing and implementing psychometric procedures for educational testing programs, ensuring the veracity of data, validating analytical methods and results, and independently designing, planning, and completing research studies to support operational contracts and clients ?? needs. Additional responsibilities include the following:

* Designing and performing classical and IRT item analyses, equating studies, validity studies, sampling plans, and special statistical analyses.

* Critically evaluating IRT calibration and equating results.

* Challenging initial results to ensure accuracy in all estimated item, person, and equating parameters.

* Developing and using psychometric tools to evaluate the accuracy of results and decisions made during complex psychometric analyses.

* Accurately analyzing, interpreting, and clearly communicating test results to state department of education officials within specified deadlines.

* Independently working with state officials to ensure the correct implementation of educational testing programs.

* Working with Content Design and Development Specialists in developing tests and equating models to support psychometric scales over multi-year periods.

* Working with Scoring staff in reviewing procedures and logistics across a wide range of scenarios to ensure that scores accurately reflect student performance.

* Authoring technical documentations that comprehensively summarize the details of an assessment program and that are in compliance with the Educational Testing Standards.

* Participating in standard setting, technical advisory committee meetings, and/or other client meetings on an as-needed basis.

* Independently working with third parties to ensure the accuracy of equating study results.

* Developing and participating in research projects within the department ??s research frameworks. Research participation includes, but is not limited to, designing research studies, participating in the company ??s internship and visiting scholarship programs, and presenting research within the company and at national conferences.

* Supporting cross-functional activities to ensure that contract deliverables are accurate and are done in a timely manner.

Qualifications

* A Ph.D. in educational statistics, measurement, psychometrics or an Ed.D. in educational measurement

* Minimum three years of experience working in an educational testing company with increasing responsibilities
* A working knowledge of IRT applications, item calibration, score equating, and traditional and IRT-based methods of item and test analysis

* Experience with IRT software (e.g., WINSTEPS, PARSCALE)
