Jobing Description
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for direct day to day supervision of all Buyer levels in an active production procurement environment.
* Monitors daily/weekly/monthly procurement activities, establishing and maintains performance based matrixes insuring Buyer performance with timely processing of requisitions and performing MRP analysis in order to meet desired cost and schedule requirements, while maintaining proper inventory levels in support of manufacturing.
* Capable of effectively communicating and implementing company goals and directives to all Buyer levels.
* Must have extensive practical experience sourcing electro-optical and mechanical custom components.
* Capable of monitoring and working with Buyers in conjunction with intercompany departments and suppliers in problem resolution and process improvement.
* Work directly with Buyers to develop and enhance business relationships with strategic supplier/partners, supporting the initial qualification and then fostering a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers and their management.
* Actively works with Buyers to continually develop/improve supplier capabilities and cost effectiveness through introduction and implementation of new technologies and processes.
* Ensures that confidentiality agreements and other necessary contracts/OEM agreements are created and established with suppliers.
* Encourage Buyers to continually seek supplier cost savings and quality improvement projects.
* Oversee Buyer management of supplier contact responsibility for Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions/activities.
* Oversee Buyers and coordination of quality issues with suppliers as required and manage supplier returns.
* Analyze and report on supplier execution to determine factors affecting pricing, quality, on time delivery (accuracy and completeness) performance across commodities and implement improvements
* Work with Buyers to encourage the expansion of all Vendor Managed Materials efforts towards reduction of inventory levels and lead times.
* Reduce procurement cost and improve responsiveness by analyzing supply chain and commodity trends, measuring and reporting results as well as enhancing established procedures.
* Assist in aligning strategic procurement goals and objectives with quarterly deliverables, weekly activities and daily schedules.
Qualifications
BS degree in related field
Minimum 10 years experience in sourcing custom electro-optical and mechanical components in a high tech environment.
Working experience with compliance initiatives such as Sarbanes-Oxley, ITAR, FARS, and ISO.
Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Must have a strong analytical background, and proven history of directing, implementing and completing multiple tasks.
Must have minimum of 5 yrs previous supervisory experience in similar position/environment.
Must have extensive experience working and interfacing with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Quality, and Engineering.
Must have proven negotiation skills, and hands on vendor managed material programs experience.
