Description

Timken Aerospace manufactures precision bearings for engines, gearboxes, accessories, airframe controls and landing wheels. From turbine engines and gearboxes to helicopter transmissions and auxiliary power units and more, Timken Aerospace provides products help private, commercial and military aerospace customers fly high.

The Ring Finishing Cell Technician is a CNC machine operator position. The Ring Finishing Cell Technician position utilizes the operator's skills and knowledge to perform and maintain all manufacturing processes efficiently within our Ring Finishing Cell to produce aerospace bearings.

Responsibilities

* Perform manufacturing processes including the operation of CNC grinding, turning, and honing machines.
* Inspect manufactured components for conformance to specifications using bench and electronic gauging.
* Participate in process improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
* Act as a role model, coach and trainer for new associates to foster a team environment.
* Enhance machinery performance to prevent machine downtime.
* Document and communicate manufacturing performance issues to maintain continuity between shifts and decrease machine downtime.
* Support improvement projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Basic math
* Good written and verbal skills
* Basic computer skills

Preferred

* Previous CNC experience
* Machinist math / basic trigonometry
* Knowledge of, and experience with lean manufacturing tools
