Band FP: $57,320 through $82,159
A Bachelor's degree in safety sciences, safety management, or a similar injury prevention discipline and five years of safety and health experience in a physical work environment . Equivalent field operations experience may be used to satisfy the degree and safety and health field experience requirements. Experience in direct supervision of utility trades and one year of training experience, either as a formal trainer or on-the-job training activities is desired. Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to function as an effective member of a team, and knowledge of OSHA regulations is required. Other requirements include: the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, and speak to groups of various sizes and background; a demonstrated ability to recognize work place hazards and take action to prevent accidents; a valid driver's license; and the ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers license.
Individual will assist PSNH management in the administration of its occupational safety and health programs by serving as both a technical and internal management consulting resource regarding injury and illness prevention and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include: conducting in the field work place safety observations of NU Employees and contractors, evaluating work practices and conditions; assisting field personnel in developing safe and healthful work practices; providing input for the purposes of revising safety rules, operating procedures or work methods; assisting supervisors in developing or obtaining quality safety meeting materials and programs; assisting management in the investigation of work place injuries and illnesses; analyzing and interpreting injury data; providing field safety support during storm emergencies, both in and out of state; maintaining all appropriate records and documentation; and developing and presenting training programs.
