Band FP: $57,320 through $82,159

An Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology or two years of formal technical training beyond High School or the equivalent is required. Nine years of related dispatching experience, including work in distribution dispatching, generation station operations, electrical maintenance, power system protection and control, or work of equivalent nature is required for the Band FP level. Twelve years of the same experience is required for the Band GP level. Individual must have the ability to obtain the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) certification within first year. Clear verbal communications skills are required. Qualified candidates must submit a resume with their application.
Individual will plan, schedule, and coordinate activities associated with the safe, reliable and economic minute-to-minute operation of the generation, transmission and distribution facilities under the operating jurisdiction of the New Hampshire 24/7 dispatch center. Responsibilities will include: planning, preparing, approving and issuing orders for switching, grounding and tagging requirements in accordance with approved switching and tagging instructions and safety rules; performing computer on-line and off-line security analysis studies to evaluate the status of the system; developing plans to cope with possible or projected contingency conditions on the system; determining the locations of faulted equipment, sectionalizing via SCADA control, faulted transmission and distribution system segments in order to restore customer loads; isolating defective equipment to facilitate repairs and directing the restoration of impacted generation, transmission and distribution facilities; maintaining system voltage profiles in accordance with prescribed voltage schedules by utilizing generator reactive resources, as well as reactors, load tap changing transformers, substation capacitors and pole top capacitors on the transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution system; initiating emergency procedures as requested or as required by procedures, including the curtailment of load, reporting such actions to the appropriate authorities located at the NH Local Control Center member companies; dispatching and controlling of NH hydro/CT generation, including river water management of dams and gates; and overall shift responsibilities for proper and consistent application of all established operating procedures, guides, and instructions.
