Job Description
The LOTAC Test Equipment Support Engineer will play a vital role in reducing RTAT (Repair Turnaround Time) for product critical to BAE Systems’ end-customer mission success.  The ECS Sustainment Center supports our customers with cutting edge, timely and cost effective support in the repair, retrofit, upgrade, and in some cases new build, of a variety of highly complex, state of the art modules and assemblies. 
As a member of the ECS Sustainment Technical Operations Team, this individual will ensure that Test Equipment, Interface Test Adapters and related peripheral equipment in the MER24 Sustainment Factory is available to support the F35 Program and its customers.  Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the first line of support for Factory technicians, working with other functions (Hardware Engineering, ITE, IT Security and LM Support Reps assigned to the MER24 Factory) as needed to diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Define, coordinate and execute maintenance and support plans for the IPLRC, DIPLRC, MATS and various debug stands to ensure these are available, working with others as needed.
  • Own the health and factory availability of all BAE-owned peripheral equipment associated with F35 In-Process (IPLRC, DIPLRC, and MATS), debug, and Final ATP (LMSTAR) test stands.
  • Assist in the standardization and reporting and analysis of internal and external metrics
  • Expand ITA repair capability in the factory.
  • Identify and drive actions to reduce down time on test stands, elevating as necessary to Operations Program Managers, Program Engineering or Program resources as needed.  This may include escalation processes, spare equipment, and Preventive Maintenance processes among others.
  • Manage the classified IS within the F35 Factory, and potentially additional IS’s
Experience directly supporting automated test equipment and complex test adapters in an Operations environment, strong technical skills, and good communication skills are critical for the success in this role.  Interested candidates should exhibit sound judgment and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.   The ability to manage time effectively while dealing with a variety of issues in a dynamic environment will be key to the success of this individual.   Solid interpersonal and organization skills are required to manage a number of projects and issues while working effectively across organizations.
