This position will have process engineering ownership for all product moving through a new state-of-the-art CCA and mechanical assembly NPI Pilot Line which manufactures complex CCA's as well as upper level mechanical assembly and wiring for the military and aerospace industry. The individual will manage a process engineering team that will develop solutions for product assembly, resolve product design & manufacturing related problems, and support new product introduction through the pilot line transition to production process. We are looking for candidates with excellent leadership skills and a strong foundation in CCA and/or mechanical manufacturing.
The Electronic Warfare Integrated Manufacturing Center (EW-IMC) New Product Introduction (NPI) Pilot Line is responsible for the first unit builds of new hardware designs. This will include the development and maturation of the associated build processes, programming, and tooling in preparation for rate production. Working closely with Program Engineering and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment makes the NPI Pilot Line a unique and exciting opportunity to influence the future success of production runs, and to have a positive impact by influencing the program and product before entering low-rate production.

Job duties:
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, feedback, and guidance to the New Product Introduction Process Engineers and Methods Specialists, approximately 16 people
  • Continue to develop and mature policies and processes required for a Pilot Line environment
  • Manage technical personnel through hiring, staff development, and personnel assignments to meet the needs of the business.
  • Closely collaborate with the Product, Producibility, and Launch (P2L) Capability Group Engineering team to ensure factory feedback is being incorporated on new designs
  • Provide staffing and support for proposal NRE Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and execution of NRE
  • Successful transition to production for new hardware designs to the Production factory teams
  • Driving product / process improvements, production problem resolutions and integrating solutions into a lean manufacturing environment.
