The Role

DEKA is extending its team of software engineers with applied machine learning (ML) skills. The ideal candidate will join a multidisciplinary agile group of engineers focused on applying state of the art ML approaches to a variety of customer problems. Modern ML approaches are inherently multidisciplinary, integrating concepts from Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Physics, Data Science, and other fields. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated the interdisciplinary breadth needed to integrate concepts from other fields to improve mission performance in areas such as vision systems, autonomous robotics, and device analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data preparation pipelines for machine learning data
  • Interpret machine learning algorithm metrics
  • Design and develop test automation frameworks to support Performance, Accuracy, and Scalability of existing Machine Learning Models
  • Define and Document test cases based on requirements
  • Work with developers, program managers, and other teams within DEKA to create high quality software
  • Participate in technical reviews (e.g. requirements, design, test plans, and code)
  • Participate in Agile process (e.g. daily scrum, backlog grooming, planning)

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years code development experience
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working to and with detailed requirements
  • Experience programming with at least one of the following: Java/Groovy, C++, C#
  • Experience defining and documenting test cases
  • Experience using automated software testing tools
  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented design and programming principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong documentation skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS hosted services
  • Experience with Machine Learning Frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Experience with some of the following:  Spark, Pandas, NumPy, REST, JSON, SQL and No SQL Databases, Docker, Gradle
