    POSITION: Speech Language Pathologist Head Teacher
    LOCATION: District Wide
    WORK YEAR: 2019-2020
    SALARY RANGE: Per Teacher Contract

    QUALIFICATIONS: NH licensed as Speech Language Pathologist. Knowledge of statutes related to special education and IEP development. Good communication skills.

    Head Teachers serve as an informed resource person for the specified content area and instructional best practices and foster collaboration with colleagues to provide leadership necessary to implement curriculum with integrity. Head Teachers collaborate regularly with District Curriculum Office personnel to study, evaluate, and recommend improvement of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and resources and to plan and develop professional development opportunities. They meet regularly with Principals, Assistant Principals and content area teachers to provide updates and to assist Principals in planning and implementing school initiatives, goals and professional development and assist teachers with concerns for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and resources. Head Teachers assist in the selection of new teachers by screening applicants and taking part in the interview process, participate in the preparation of the department budget, coordinate and oversee the purchasing and distribution of instructional materials and supplies for the department. This individual will not have any responsibility for the observation and evaluation of staff.

    • Demonstrated understanding of best instructional practices
    • Solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and disposition for the content area (s)
    • Commitment to participate in and provide ongoing professional development
    • Ability to embrace, facilitate, and implement district and school-based initiatives
    • Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data for instructional decision making

    The Head Teacher will be selected from certified teaching staff in the school district. This position is paid by stipend.
