The Reimbursement Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing core reimbursement processes to establish medical necessity, negotiate pricing, and obtain accurate payments to minimize the financial burden for patients using Optune.  This position is focused on providing leadership and support for the Reimbursement team. This position will be responsible for collaborating with and supporting the other Revenue Operations functional teams and working closely with the Revenue Operations Leadership team.  This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Manager of Reimbursement and is based in Portsmouth, NH.

         

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

       Ability to lead a team of individuals in a coaching environment

       Provide motivation while helping oversee day-to-day operations

        Confirm  accuracy and timeliness of insurance benefit verifications being performed

        Monitor the prior authorization process to establish medical necessity for all patients with insurance

        Ensure the team is consistently follow-up on pending items with insurance companies via phone and insurance website in a timely manner

       Actively work with the team to provide assistance as they investigate and resolve all incorrect payments and escalate trended changes in behavior as identified

       Successfully oversee the claim appeals process for payment disputes

       Provide guidance on negotiating single-case agreements with insurance companies to establish pricing

       Coach the team to communicate with key personnel within managed care organizations, such as nurse case managers, to streamline the reimbursement processing for patients

       Identify and escalate contracting implementation challenges and opportunities

       Identify, communicate, and implement opportunities for process improvement

       Lead and successfully resolve insurance carrier projects as needed

       Manage specific reimbursement processes or projects as needed

       Provide guidance and oversight of payer team priorities

       Identify and lead team training needs

       Conducts team meetings to provide updates on best practices and continuing expectations for the team

       Assists with hiring process and onboarding of new team members

       Provide support to Manager of Reimbursement and performed management duties when manager is absent

       Perform all other duties or priorities assigned by management as needed

 

Qualifications:

       Bachelors degree or equivalent experienece preferred

       6-10 years experience in a reimbursement-related function, DME-specific experience preferred

       Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor

 

       Track record of success, as demonstrated by roles of increasing responsibility

       Demonstrated effectiveness with delegating tasks and meeting deadlines

       Demonstrated knowledge of basic medical and insurance terminology preferred

       Demonstrated effectiveness communicating with insurance companies about medical policies and contracts preferred

       Familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP preferred
