Saint Anselm College, a Catholic, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, seeks a full-time, year-round Controller’s Office Manager to direct the daily operations of the Student Financial Services, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Cash Receipt functions, fostering an environment of quality customer service. This position serves as a liaison between the Controller’s Office and many other offices on campus including Financial Aid and Human Resources. The Controller’s Office Manager reports to the Controller and performs various financial accounting operations, reporting, analytics and policy functions. The Controller’s Office Manager supervises a team of four full-time employees.
Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting standards as well as knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations (specifically including payroll). Candidates must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. The position requires excellent problem solving, analytical and business skills; as well as strong project management skills to meet deadlines and work effectively with others. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of the use and potential of technology in the area of financial management. Significant use of advanced excel skills required as well as proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business related area required. Advanced degree preferred. Five to seven years applicable experience required, background in non-profit organization or higher education preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated ability as an effective leader, including a history of progressive responsibility and supervision of others. Experience with Jenzabar financial software and/or Paycom is advantageous.
