Summary:


Responsible for timely and accurate coding and entry of all practice revenue into practice management system. Reviews clinical documentation in order to assign diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient and outpatient medical records according to the appropriate classification system. Periodical auditing of practice procedures related to billing and coding as well as physician documentation and code assignment.


Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA) required.

· 2+ years medical coding experience required.

· Familiarity with common Windows based on office software applications.

Demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and Medicare

coding guidelines.

· Proficient understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

· Time management skills and ability to prioritize daily work flow.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must have excellent

analytical and critical thinking skills.

· Must be detail oriented and work independently and collaboratively with various

administrative and clinical staff as well as providers,

· Ability to multi-task in a busy environment and meet deadlines. Ability to work

with detail.

· Ability to understand the clinical content of a health record, including the most

complicated records.

· Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks. Able to interact on all professional

levels.
